Brian Cober

Brian Cober

Brian and his Double Slide would be a pleasent gimmick were it not for his mastery and musicality. Two big things in Brian’s developement were going bare right-handed (without picks) and his trusty metronome.

  • “Austin Wired” released in 2014. Reached top 10 on many roots and blues charts. Glowing reviews.
  • Invented and plays Double Slide Guitar. Unusual sounds and versatility.
  • In the past 8 years has toured Israel (twice), Lithuania, Canada and U.S.
Brian Cober is the best friend that the slide guitar ever had. His ‘Double Slide’ invention has given the slide guitar a voice and range of capabilities that have never been released before and harnessed them to drive his own brand of streetwise, roadwise blues. He has captured the soul that makes one actually enjoy in a sympathetic way his confessions of heartbreaks and excesses. With his band The Nationals, Brian released 3 acclaimed CD’s and backed up Bo Diddley, King Biscuit Boy, Johnny Winter and many others. Brian began his solo career with a new CD “Real Far Gone” (2011) Brian has played full time since 1976 at clubs, Blues Society’s, dances, private parties, and festivals including the Montreal Jazz Festival, Bluizo Natkys Festival in Lithuania, La Chute Fest in Quebec, and toured Finland, Lithuania, Israel and the U.S. Brian has a new CD “Austin Wired” recorded in Austin TX . First the listener is struck by the unique sight and sound of the Double-Slide. Then Brians mastery of the instrument becomes obvious, along with his soulful vocals and great songwriting. Whenever, and for however many, Brian Cober is a unique and uplifting musical experience.
