TORONTO – WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 28, 2012 – Don’t miss the chance to get a sneak preview of what’s in store at this year’s ELEVENTH ANNUAL WINTERFOLK FESTIVAL. Some of the finest folk, roots and blues artists will take the stage at Toronto’s Freetimes Café Dec 8th, at the Moonshine Café in Oakville December 15th and at Salvatore’s Trattoria on Jan 19 in Port Perry. For more information and updates please visit www.winterfolk.com

Toronto’s Winterfolk XI festival – which runs from February 17 – 19, 2012, will present 3 fun, jam-packed nights of music as a teaser to the upcoming free, all-ages, mid-winter, weatherproof urban blues and roots festival.

Every year Winterfolk Blues and Roots Festival engages in special “preview” performances that showcase some of the finest emerging and established talent the city has to offer. We want audiences to get a glimpse of what will be on offer for the upcoming festival. Most years there has been only one preview, but because of the enormous popularity of these events, Winterfolk will put on three previews in three different cities this year under the title SMOKIN’ GUITARS OF WINTERFOLK. Venues include – December 8 @ Toronto’s favourite open mic venue, The Free Times Cafe, December 15 @ Oakville’s most happening music house The Moonshine Cafe and January 19 @ Port Perry’s Salvatore's Trattoria. Artists include country swing band The Wanted, flying finger pickin’ Brian Gladstone, hillbilly swing duo HOTCHA!, folk music’s renowned duo Crabtree and Mills, guitar gal Marg Stowe, picking fiends D’Arcy Wickham and Erwin Schack, old timey treasure Mr. Rick, the illustrious Noah Zacharin, and the TRIO OF FUN starring Wendell Ferguson, Tony Quarrington and Ken Whiteley.
