Theme Days at Winterfolk
Emerging Talent Night at Winterfolk, Thursday, February 12, 2026
This evening is dedicated to new and developing artists, with a focus on original songs, solid craft, and performers ready to take the next step. Artists are selected and presented by experienced local presenters, including Tyler Ellis (Riverboat Mondays), Jessica Stuart (Rose and Crown), Phillip Vonesh (Toronto Folk Festival), Howard Gladstone (Tranzac Residency), Mike Weir (Dr. B’s Acoustic Medicine Show), and Carlos Mallia (Moonshine Café). Presented in a true listening-room setting, Emerging Talent Night gives audiences the opportunity to support the next generation of artists and hear where the future of the music is headed.
Blues Friday – Friday Feb 13, 2026 – 7:00 PM – 11:00PM
Blue Friday at Winterfolk focuses on blues and blues-based music, with many artists working squarely within the blues tradition. Some performers lean toward the rootsy side, drawing on related styles while keeping the blues at the centre. Together, the lineup reflects the close relationship between blues and roots music and the range of approaches artists take within that shared territory.
Sounds of Canada – Saturday Feb 14, 2026 – 1:00 PM – 11:00PM
Sounds of Canada highlights original music by Canadian artists, focusing on heritage, lived experience, and the diversity that shapes their work. Drawing from different cultural, regional, and musical traditions, the lineup brings together voices that paint pictures of Canada through song, grounded in place, community, and a quietly elbows-up resilience — offering a clear snapshot of how contemporary Canadian songwriting reflects where we live and who we are.
Songs in the Key of Canada becomes a Valentine’s Evening of music and dance, shaped by connection, intimacy, and shared experience. Featuring Canadian artists whose songs speak to love, longing, and human ties, the night brings warmth and closeness to mid-winter, presented in a listening-room setting where lyrics and emotion take centre stage
Sounds of the World – Sunday Feb 15, 2026 – 1:00 PM – 11:00PM
Sounds of the World brings together artists from different ethnicities, mixing and adapting musical traditions within North American folk, roots, and blues forms. Shaped by global influences, the music reflects a cultural melting pot, where voices, rhythms, and traditions come together — artists drawing from many backgrounds, singing all as one within a shared roots framework.
