Winterfolk believes that music brings people together and that everyone should feel welcomed, respected and valued. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment that embraces people of all backgrounds, cultures, ages, abilities, identities and experiences.
We welcome people of all races, ethnicities, gender identities and expressions, sexual orientations including LGBTQ+ communities, faiths, abilities and perspectives. Through music, community and shared experiences, Winterfolk strives to create a safe, accessible and supportive space where everyone belongs.
Winterfolk Gives Back
Winterfolk has always been about more than presenting great music. Since its beginning, the festival has invested in artists, strengthened community, and created opportunities that help live music thrive.
Every February, Winterfolk provides meaningful performance opportunities for more than 100 artists during a traditionally quieter season. More than 80% of festival revenue is returned directly to performers, and since 2003, Winterfolk has paid over $950,000 to artists.
As a volunteer-driven organization, Winterfolk works year-round with artists, presenters, volunteers, and community partners to help build a vibrant, inclusive music community. By supporting both emerging and established performers, Winterfolk continues to foster discovery, encourage creativity, and strengthen the cultural life of our community.

Winterfolk began with a simple idea: bring people together through the shared experience of music. What started as a grassroots festival grew into a vibrant community celebration of folk, roots, blues and diverse musical traditions, creating meaningful connections between artists and audiences.
Over the years, Winterfolk has evolved while remaining true to its heart — supporting artists, building community and creating opportunities for both emerging and established performers to share the stage.
