Isabel Fryszberg won audiences last year with her band Isabel and the Uncommons at Winterfolk and returns back as a duo with the uncommonly good Tony Quarrington. Together they perform songs from her debut album Heart’s and Arrows plus some more tasteful surprises. “If you came for the voice and the heartbreak, Isabel delivers the goods with an uncommon authenticity.” Her album has garnered glowing reviews in music publications such as Cashbox Canada, Canadian Music Week, and No Depression. “This is a new line of soul food, a variety on a plate as traditional as corn and peas in butter with some spinach and string beans on the side” John Aspice, No Depression. She also was involved in a new album and project in 2016 by The Social Mystics called Coming Out Of Darkness. The Social Mystics features music created by individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness and/or addictions at the Creative Works Studio a program she founded and leads at St Michael’s Hospital in partnership with the GoodShepherd Non profit Homes in Toronto.
