Joanne Crabtree

Singer/songwriter Joanne Crabtree is delighted to be reuniting with her Winterfolk peeps and bringing what she refers to as her “baritone” vocals back home to The Danforth … let’s get this party started!

  • 1960’s Chatelaine Magazine dubs Joanne “Canada’s Answer to Bob Dylan”.
  • 2009 Co-wrote most played song on US Folk Radio on MLK’s Birthday.
  • 2011 Wrote a story song about the Avro Arrow.
By age seventeen, Joanne Crabtree was a busy folk artist in the heady pre-Yorkville days of 1960s Toronto, touring frequently across Canada, then moving on to an exciting singing career in mid-Beatles Britain. Upon returning to North America, she became lead singer in the folk-rock band, Hard and Soft. Ten years later, she left organized music to focus on raising her three sons and polishing her writing skills. In 2001, Joanne’s first CD, All the Good Times, was released to good reviews, triggering her inspired return to the professional stage as a popular singer, who writes songs of substance … and songs of silliness too!
