Showcase Application (8
performance spots) - Winterfolk
is
 committed to offer performance opportunities and public exposure to new or
emerging artists, and all artists - regardless of prior festival experience.
We are accepting submissions exclusively through
Sonicbids online this year. Please
read the following carefully, as it will answer most of your questions. The only
access to judge's inbox is via a Sonicbids submission.
Submission Details: The application fee is $15.00 if submitted Oct
2, 2005 or before, $20.00 if
submitted Nov 2 2005 or before, and $25.00 till the deadline of midnight on Dec
11,
2005. All artists will be advised of their status, weather selected or
not, prior to Jan 1 2006. (Note currency is $US, Pricing indicated is for
Sonicbids members. New sign-up members can receive a 3 month membership at a
discounted price.)
Artist
Selection will be at the sole
discretion of the Winterfolk. Every submission will be listed to and carefully
evaluated. All submissions will be confirmed via email on receipt. (Ensure your
Sonicbids contact information is current!) We will use best efforts to remain fair and unbiased in the
selection process. Once selected, you will receive materials on the festival,
and your performance date will be scheduled.
Showcase Winners get full WINTERFOLK festival
publicity and will be included in all applicable artist promotion and exposure.
We will post selected performer's pictures and bio on the WINTERFOLK website,
print a listing in the festival program, and advise press and prominent industry
people about set times and locations. In addition, showcase winners will receive
a 45 Minute Performance at one of the participating venues. (schedule to be
determined), opportunities to participate in additional stage times including
workshops and seminars, 2 Artists Passes allows access to Stage,
Backstage, and Hospitality privileges valid for the entire three day festival,
invited to Artist private parties and information sessions, Inclusion in
Winterfolk Promotion such as pictures in print advertisements, flyers,
Winterfolk Program Guide, www.Winterolk.com
website, and other forms of promotion, 4 weekend passes to Winterfolk IV for
friends and family. (value > $160.00).
Winners must be available to play in
Toronto during the festival dates. Many of our showcase winners are hired back
in future year to play at
Winterfolk.
