Starting with Winterfolk III, February 2005, Winterfolk will be run as a division of 'The Association of Artists for A Better World', a registered Non-Profit Organization in the Province of Ontario, Canada.About the FestivalWhat is Winterfolk ?Winterfolk (IV) is a fourth annual event for Toronto. More than 80 artists will be performing live at seven area venues over the course of three days. It will also include workshops for guitar playing, song writing, and more. A Winterfolk Program Guide will be distributed at all of the participating venues. The Winterfolk Program Guide will include information on all of the artists, venues, workshops, schedules, etc. Press releases will be issued to the media to generate additional publicity. Television, radio and print coverage are all expected. Back to TopHow Much Will It Cost to Attend?Weekend Winterfolk IV passes are $40.00 until Dec 31, 2005, and $55.00 in 2006. Passes will allow fans to attend each and every Winterfolk event including the showcase and various workshops. All participating musicians will receive free personalized laminates and are encouraged to attend other events. Winterfolk Program Guides will be distributed for free. 1. By Invitation: Be invited to play by Winterfolk's artistic diretor, Randi Fratkin.2. Apply for A Showcase: Showcase Application (8 spots) - Winterfolk is committed to offer performance opportunities and public exposure to new or emerging artists, and all artists - regardless of prior festival experience.We will be only be accepting submissions exclusively through Sonicbids online this year, and not via mail.The application fee is $15.00 if submitted Oct 2 2005 or before, $20.00 if submitted Nov 2 2005 or before, and $25.00 till the deadline of midnight on Dec 11, 2005. Artist selection will be at the sole discretion of the Winterfolk. Every submission will be listed to and carefully evaluated. We will use best efforts to remain fair and unbiased in the selection process. Once selected, you will receive materials on the festival, and your performance date will be scheduled.
